Michael Dougherty - Founder, President

Michael Dougherty is a filmmaker for good and social entrepreneur, believing the movie industry - with support from the social web - is destined to both entertain and help societies worldwide. He is founder of Big Damn Films, a 501c(3) production house that unites independent film with the ethos of grassroots fundraising for social causes. A dedicated social film advocate and community builder -- Mike’s work has been featured in a range of media outlets and film festivals including Wired, Mashable, The Film Journal, San Diego ComicCon, BlogTown, DragonCon, and loyal fan community FireflyFans. His full length project Browncoats Redemption was created by volunteer actors, scifi communities, and engineers across the globe and raised over $117k for charities. Browncoats Redemption also garnered support from scifi producer, writer, & filmmaker legend Joss Whedon.

Drawing on his years in entertainment and interactive media, Mike enjoys conversation on how film can be used for the greater good. And with a caffeine addiction in full swing, he looks forward to your conversation on twitter at @WickedJava.

Andrew Louis Marnik

Andrew Louis Marnik has been working in the film and television industry since 2005. Struck with the production bug in his teens, he loves the inner workings of all things Film and TV. A 2005 Graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Electronic Filmmaking and Digital Video Design's Bachelor of Arts Program, Andrew had the honor of editing Big Damn Film’s first production, “Browncoats: Redemption.”  As a filmmaker, he started with stop-motion animation films with toy figures as a kid and he has now grown into admiring the works of Danny Boyle, Akira Kurosawa, David Cronenberg, Guillermo Del Toro and others. He has a deep love for producing independent cinema in any capacity while raising funds and awareness for charitable organizations and aims to direct his first feature under Big Damn Film’s banner.
